Storebrand acknowledged for excellent leadership in sustainable investments
As the only Norwegian asset owner, Storebrand has been identified as an investor with excellent responsible investment practices in PRI Leader's Group.
The group consists of asset owners who have been identified based on their work in responsible investments, both across their organisation and on the particular theme of selection, appointment and monitoring of external managers.
Only Norwegian asset owner
Eight Nordic institutions have been included in the very first listing of 47 asset owners identified as PRI Leader's Group, which is an initiative to showcase leadership and raise standards of responsible investment. Storebrand has been included based on our management of external private equity investments.
- We are proud to be recognised as a part of this group, as the only Norwegian asset owner. Storebrand apply sustainability principles to our entire business, including investments, product development and house management, says Odd Arild Grefstad, CEO Storebrand ASA.
Important recognition
PRI is a leading proponent of responsible investments and works to support an international network of investor signatories in incorporating environmental, social and governance factors (ESG) into investment and ownership decisions.
- This is an important recognition of our systematic work on sustainable investments. We would like to use this role to share our experiences and inspire more investors, says Jan Erik Saugestad, CEO Storebrand Asset Management.
Fiona Reynolds, CEO at the PRI, congratulates Storebrand in a letter:
- We will encourage our wider signatory base to learn from your responsible investment practices in manager selection, appointment and monitoring. I hope this recognition can help Storebrand ASA and our entire signatory base to keep raising the bar in responsible investment.
